Walk this way or at least Sound this way with Joe Perry
Joe Perry, the Lead Guitarist/Songwriter of Aerosmith, has been able to uphold a long career, probably due to the catchy riff and hooks this guitarist is able to produce, but he also has a unique and recognizable sound.
Here is a list of equipment used on the most recent tour:
Amplifiers:
2 Marshall Major 200-watt heads (believe only one is used)
2 Marshall 4X12 Speaker Cabinets
Variac power attenuator
Effects Pedals/Pedalboard:
Radial Studio Guitar Interface SGI-RX receiver
Klon Centaur Overdrive pedal
Chicago Iron Tychobrahe Octavia pedal
MoogerFooger MF-104Z Analog Delay pedal
Line 6 MM-4 Modulation Modeler pedal
Line 6 DL-4 Delay Modeler pedal
Carl Martin Plexi-Tone pedal
Digitech Whammy pedal
Vox Wah-Wah Pedal
Ernie Ball 6180 Mono Volume Pedal
Radial Studio Guitar Interface SGI-TX transmitter
There are two things in Perry's pedal chain that change from time to time. First being his octave pedal, he used a few different ones intermittently including: Octavia Pedal, Electro-Harmonix POG pedal, and a Fulltone Ultimate Octave Pedal.
Additionally, his delays alternate between the Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Memory Man Pedal, DL-4 Pedal, and the Fulltone Tube Tape Echo Pedal.
